Syrup Producer in Solar Operation

Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks, located East Montpelier, Vermont, US, has installed a 30 kW on-site solar tracking system, which will produce more than 45 MWh of electricity per year and 100% of the farm’s electricity demand.

The installation consists of six pole-mounted dual-axis AllSun Trackers, manufactured by AllEarthRenewables, also based in Vermont.

The tracking systems use GPS and wireless technology to boost energy production by up to 45% over fixed installations.

Owner Burr Morse explained the decision to install the solar system: 'Most of our customers like seeing the trackers out front and there are definite cost advantages to us.'
