China expands rooftop solar capacity

A 23 MW distributed generation solar project located in China's Shandong province is to be supplied with Trina Solar PV modules.

The project, under development by Linuo Solar Power, will utilize 92,000 modules covering 500,000 square metres of rooftop and is expected to produce 2990 kWh annually.

Module shipments are expected to be completed by the end of June 2014.

Zhiguo Zhu, President of Trina Solar's Module Business Unit, noted: ‘This year the Chinese government announced a target of 8 GW of DG solar project installations and we believe there is significant potential for Trina to capitalise on the growth opportunities in the DG market segment in the second half of 2014.’
