$48m biomass CHP plant under construction in Romania

Romanian power producer Greenprav has commenced construction of a woody biomass-fuelled cogeneration unit in Busteni, Romania.

The plant will cost around$48m (EUR35m) to build and the Irish company Prime Energy Power, the main shareholder for SC Greenprav SRL Romania is the main mover behind the project.
The plant will supply heat and electrical energy for the Busteni resort and industrial, commercial and residential customers. The plant will use wood mass from the Busteni region.

The plant is expected to be operational in July 2015.
