UK power-generation packaging specialist, Centrax has strengthened its role in the fast-expanding Russian powergen market with the sale of two 5.2MW CX501-KB7 gas turbine sets for district heating plants.

“These orders are particularly significant for Centrax because good-quality cogeneration plants are now clearly competitive in Russia,” reports Nick Royal, Regional Sales Manager.

Both projects have been developed by a subsidiary of Gazprom and Centrax will be working alongside Russian EPC specialist General Energy Solutions (GES) to focus on delivering higher efficiency and energy savings through the use of new equipment.

Maintenance support for the packages will be managed by the company’s Russian service centre while GES will monitor remotely the technical and economic performance of the sets.
