Centrax's gas turbine package wins in France

Centrax of the UK has reinforced its presence in the French district heating market after winning three orders for gas turbine packages.

Two CX501-KB7 units have been ordered by Dalkia.

One is for the Omnitherm district heating plant in Valence, near Lyon, where the new 5.2 MW package will replace two existing KB7s that have been in service since 2000 and have reached the end of their 12-year EDF contract.

The second unit will equip the Gie Evry district heating plant in the southwest of Paris, replacing a Turbomeca TM5000, which Centrax has been maintaining for the past seven years.

The second customer to select the CX501-KB7 is the French energy company Cofely.

The new KB7 is destined for the Chambery plant of gypsum producer Placoplatre, where it will be used for the direct drying of gypsum.

It replaces a TM5000, which has been in service for 12 years.

Centrax has confirmed that all three units will be delivered this summer for installation and commissioning in time for the start of the winter heating season.
