Beijing data centre facilitated by GE Cogeneration Systems

China National Petroleum Corporation is to install GE technology to equip its cogeneration plant in Beijing.

According to a GE announcement it will be the first cogeneration plant built in China and will entail the installation of five GE ecomagination Jenbacher cogeneration systems.

The CHP technology is primarily to be used to meet the industrial data centre’s on-site cooling and heating requirements.

The 16.7 MW combined cooling and heating power plant will offer a total efficiency of up to 85 per cent to minimize the data center’s energy costs.

CNPC is building the data center to support its new Technology Innovation Base in the National Independent Innovation Park in Changping.
