Clarke Energy awarded GE contract in Tanzania

Liverpool-based multinational Clarke Energy has been awarded the distributorship for GE Power & Water’s Jenbacher gas engines in Tanzania.

Clarke, who specialise in installation of gas-fuelled combined heat and power plants, will be running the operation from its office in Dar es Salaam. These power plants operate on a range of renewable and low carbon fuels.

The company will be training Tanzanian nationals to support the gas to power product and grow an expert, locally-based sales and service capability.

Gas resources in the African nation are flourishing in recent years and availability is set to expand further with the passage of a new pipeline, currently being developed by the Tanzanian government.
