Cofely wins contract to maintain Shard

Cofely is to provide technical services to the tallest building in Western Europe under a five year contract.

The GD-Suez company will optimise performance of The Shard’s combined heat and power plant as well as ensure the building’s environmental and energy performance remain of the requisite standard.

The company will liaise with LBQ Estate management and tenants in a bid to deliver energy efficiency wherever possible "with a view to achieving continuous improvement".

Cofely UK CEO Colin Hale said: "We now maintain the world's tallest building in the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Western Europe's tallest at The Shard and also the iconic 30 St. Mary's Axe (The Gherkin) in the City. We can put this unrivalled experience to work for the benefit of our demanding and valued customers in all of these locations."
