More progress on Canadian biomass plant

Novia Scotia Power’s 60 MW biomass plant moved another step closer to completion this week in Canada, with the addition of a steam turbine and generator to the facility.

The $208m biomass cogeneration plant has reached a significant milestone with the arrival of the steam turbine generator that will produce electricity.

On operation the plant will provide enough energy to power about 50,000 homes, reports the Cape Breton Post.

The steam turbine generator was constructed by Mitsubishi Power Systems in Japan.
