American DG sets up CHP system at New York gym

American DG Energy Inc (ADGE:NYSE Amex) is now operating a combined heat and power (CHP) system at Club Fit in Jefferson Valley, New York, in a $3 million deal.

A 100 kW CHP system owned and operated by American DG Energy is tied into the health and fitness facility’s existing boiler system and will produce energy in the form of electricity, space heat and domestic hot water for the pool and spa.

Under American DG Energy’s On-Site Utility contract, Club Fit only pays for the energy used by the facility and avoids all capital, installation, operating and maintenance costs.

American DG Energy, which provides institutional, commercial and small industrial facilities with power, cooling, heat and hot water is headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts, US.
