Alstom signs up for cogeneration in China

Wuhan Boiler Company (WBC), Alstom’s largest utility boiler manufacturing site in the world, has signed a contract with Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group Co. Ltd., to supply four 350 MW sub-critical pulverised coal-fired boilers, for a cogeneration power plant located in Shandong Province, China.

The site’s state-of-the-art equipment will raise the efficiency of conventional coal-fired power plants, leading to a considerable reduction in CO2 emissions.

The delivery of the boilers will be completed by 2013.

“China remains the world's largest coal-fired power generation market. The sustainable development of thermal power relies on the facilitation of cleaner power production. This contract illustrates the customer’s sustained trust and confidence in Alstom’s clean power solutions and high-efficiency equipment,” says Frederic Pierucci, Vice President of Alstom Boilers.
