Panasonic plans fuel cell R&D centre in Wales

Japanese electronics maker Panasonic (TYO: 6752) will establish a fuel cell research and development facility in Cardiff, Wales.

WalesOnline.co.uk reports that the move was initiated after British Prime Minister David Cameron's visit to Japan.

Panasonic's initiative is in line with its plan to expand its micro combined heat and power systems (m-CHP) operations in Europe.

The company is to invest $3.2 in the R&D centre in Cardiff, the report said, with the Welsh government offering supplementary financial support.
