Court accepts EDF offer for photovoltaic company

Electricite de France SA said a commercial court has accepted its offer for solar panel maker Photowatt.

The nuclear utility will take ownership of Photowatt on March 1 through its renewable energy division EDF (Euronext: EDF) Energies Nouvelles Reparties, according to an e-mailed statement.

Photowatt's business, the latter being the only French manufacturer of photovoltaic cells. EDF will take possession of Photowatt assets from 1st March 2012.
