Solar PV scheme underway in Hampshire

One of the UK’s largest rooftop solar PV installations – a 277 kWp scheme over 5000 m2  that combines thin-film and polycrystalline panels – has come online at Hampshire Cosmetics.

Anesco Asset Management implemented the scheme and is also handling installation and ongoing maintenance after signing a deal to lease the rooftop from Hampshire Cosmetics.

The scheme takes advantage of the UK government’s Feed in Tariffs (FiTs), and all excess energy generated by the scheme is fed back into the National Grid. Anesco fast-tracked the project for completion before the end of July, when planned changes to the FiT scheme come into effect.

Robert Sanders, head of finance at Hampshire Cosmetics, said: “This project greatly reinforces our continuing commitment to sustainable manufacturing. It will greatly reduce our carbon footprint while meeting 20% of our annual energy requirements.”
