Tenesol completes first Italian turnkey PV installation

Tenesol, the solar power provider owned by Total and EDF, has completed its first turnkey photovoltaic (PV) project in Italy.

The company designed, manufactured and installed a 100 kWp rooftop system at an organic farm in Ispica City, on the island of Sicily.

The system can generate up to 150,000 kWh of electricity per year, most of which is delivered directly to the farm to reduce its consumption of grid electricity.

The remaining power it produces is fed into the local electricity grid to generate revenue.

The 99.36 kWp system comprises 432 PV modules, which are manufactured by Tenesol at its production facility in Toulouse, France.

The 6000 m2 organic farm is owned by Natursana, a company that specialises in controlled agriculture and organic farming.

The farm is situated on protected land, and in order to be allowed to cultivate crops, it must comply with the latest European standards for reducing environmental impact.
