Centrax wins TNK-BP order in Russia

Gas turbine packaging specialist Centrax of the UK has won an order from oil and gas company TNK-BP for its CX 501-KB7 generator sets, which increases Centrax’s fleet in Russia to 16 units.

The two 5.2 MWe packages, each powered by a single Rolls-Royce 501 gas turbine, will run on natural gas and will be located outdoors.

The new equipment is destined for TNK-BP’s Pokrovka gas treatment facility in the region of Orenburg, some 1100 km south-east of Moscow.

The Pokrovka site replaces an existing treatment facility and it is designed to enhance further gas extraction from the Pokrovka fields.

The two Pokrovka packages will be delivered by Centrax to the site this summer.

Centrax recently set up Centrax Gas Turbines RUS in St Petersburg to service the Russian market.
