OneTrip is announced "to greatly reduce the time and costs associated with mandatory Blowout Prevention testing." This company collaborated with Shell Offshore Engineering to engineer, manufacture, and test the universal tool for any BOP configuration.
All three traditional staged subtests: BOP large RAM, small RAM, and sheering capabilities which require testing tools to run multiple 'trips' along the BOP stack - are performed in a single trip down the hole, it's declared. Technology holds the tool downhole until BOP test results are confirmed satisfactory.
OneTrip capabilities also include low-torque, high-pressure seal design to ensure resilient downhole seal to withstand harsh subsea conditions plus ability to withstand 25,000 psi test and to sustain up to 1.2M lb load.
