New turbulators aid petrochem heat exchangers

Wire turbulators

A new range of wire turbulators for petrochemical heat exchangers has been launched to boost efficiency.

They utilize specialist looped-spiral design to significantly cut exchanger cost and size with improved overall performance, notes the manufacturer.

Density of the wire turbulators is declared the key to heat exchanger enhancement. It can be varied to suit liquid or gas flow. Optimizing density maximizes excitement and heat transfer coefficient with minimal pressure loss. System designers can reduce length, diameter, and/or number of tubes required per unit - while flow pumps can also be kept to minimum size.

Wire turbulators can be supplied in a range of metals to suit applications. Current production runs include galvanized mild steel, stainless steel, copper, and monel metal. Components are also available in a range of sizes.

Turbulator can be ordered in 15 cm to 3 m lengths. They are easily connected to achieve longer lengths, while diameter can be varied to suit any tube from 6.35 up to 32 mm.

Additional wire turbulators information is free upon request.
