The HAPS-free formulation combats steel corrosion caused by immersion in salt and fresh water as well as atmospheric exposure. It can be applied at temperatures as low as 0°F./-18°C.
The modified phenalkamine epoxy is also recommended for use in coastal areas, bilges and wet void areas, water and wastewater tanks, or decks and superstructures. Macropoxy 80 can also be used as an anti-corrosive primer in an underwater hull system with anti-fouling coatings.
The coating's surface tolerance enables application in the dampest conditions. Steel substrates need only to be cleaned of loose paint or rust per SSPC SP2-3 Hand and Power Tool Cleaning before application. Its 80% high solids formulation reduces likelihood of solvent entrapment that can lead to premature coating failure.
