Fabric prevents static electricity buildup to safeguard personnel

GlenGuard Hi-Vis Anti-Stat worker vests are high visibility, flame resistant designs. They are for workers who not only are required to wear clothing that meets ANSI 107, ASTM 1506, and NFPA 70-E standards - but also need static electricity protection to prevent possible ignition of flammable gases that may be present in a workplace.

Engineered vest fabric helps prevent static electricity buildup plus keeps static from igniting ambient gases with low ignition or flash points. It accomplishes this via carbon fiber technology. Carbon core fiber used in the vests has a weaker corona discharge than standard conductive yarns. This results in a much lower level of static electric energy that can create a spark sufficient to ignite gases that may be present. The core is wrapped in a polyester sheath. It protects the carbon fiber from abrasion and damage during laundering - without diminishing static dissipation properties.
