Broadened pipeline inspection services from this company now include circumferential magnetic flux leakage (MFL) technology. It identifies anomalies in pipeline long seams and more effectively manages risk associated with cracks in long seam welds plus overall pipeline assets integrity.
Baker Hughes recently acquired the assets and circumferential/transverse field (TFI) MFL technology of Intratech Inline Inspection Services Ltd.
MFL inspection technology assists operators in locating specific pipeline seam threats. These include hook cracks, lack of fusion, and long narrow-axial corrosion. The circumferential MFL technology will now be produced in larger-diameter pipeline sizes, complete with speed control and inertial navigation capabilities.
The newly acquired technology complements this pipeline inspection service provider's mechanical damage, metal loss, cracking, bending strain, geospatial location, and corrosion detection solutions.
