Oil Grabber Model 8 Belt Oil Skimmers are offered as “an environmentally responsible way for wastewater treatment plant operators and their natural gas driller customers to remove trace amounts of oil from fracing wastewater prior to disposal.”
Models offer size benefits and high oil removal capacities to 40 gph to handle frac wastewater loaded into tanker trucks and routed to large tanks where wastewater is treated prior to disposal. The skimmers can be used in tanks as shallow as 1 foot or as deep as 100 ft. There they remove oil and other hydrocarbons from fracing fluid before filtration and final stage of disposal.
Oil Grabber’s skimming uses the differences in specific gravity and surface tension between oil and water. The skimmer’s belt attracts oil and other hydrocarbon liquids from the fluid’s surface. Contaminants are then scraped off the side of the belt and discharged into a collection container. Full Oil Grabber data are free.
