PipeGuard buried sensor system uses geophones and advanced DSP-based algorithms. It alerts on digging noises detected within range of the geophone.
The sensing unit contains an acoustical audio bank and filtering algorithms. These determine presence of signals strong enough to warrant a positive detection alarm.
The signal processor transmits an alert message via TCP/IP and a wireless radio connected to Fortis advanced physical security information system. It displays the alert on a geospatial map as a low, medium, or high-confidence alert.
PipeGuard sensing units are powered by a high-capacity lithium battery at 3.6v to operate over -55° to +85°C. that provides up to 5 years of support.
