ECAT Anolyte (electro-chemical activation technology) is a newly developed green biocide. It eliminates bacteria from hydraulic fracturing of wells as an environmentally friendly formulation with no harmful products and 100% biodegradability.
Its developer reports ECAT Anolyte “achieved a superior bacteria kill count when tested in the fracing process of 10 wells in the Barnett Shale and West Texas. It also received the only perfect score in a major oil company’s 13-point environmental checklist, compared to all other major chemical suppliers for bacteria control.”
Depending on impurities of the source water used for fracing, the biocide typically requires only 0.5 gal to 1 gal of Anolyte for each 1,000 gal of water injected into a formation. Product loadings are said to be significantly reduced from other Anolyte treatments.
The same technology has also been expanded to include squeeze treatments. Over 20 wells experiencing severe tubing corrosion — have reportedly seen a significant reduction in hydrogen sulfide due to the Anolyte. Complete ECAT Anolyte data are yours free.
