EF60 mobile high-volume advanced oxidation systems with Ozonix technology are specifically designed to eliminate chemicals during natural gas and oil well fracturing. They allow energy producers to recycle 100% of their production waters. Announced as operating on hundreds of wells since 2008, EF60 decreases the amount of equipment footprint at a frac site while increasing mobility from frac site to frac site, it’s declared.
EF60 processes fresh water, flowback waters, and produced waters at variable flow rates required to keep up with pressure pumping company’s equipment during fracing. It processes frac water at 60 bpm/2,500 gpm. Two EF60s are used on each frac to eliminate the biocides and scale inhibitors presently used to fracture wells. Among benefits of the mobile high-volume oxidation system are small footprint, high productivity, and ease of moving onto and off a frac site. The water engineering and environmental services company introducing EF60 notes: “The fact that it kills bacteria while preventing scale without chemicals will make it very attractive to energy companies interested in environmentally friendly alternatives to chemicals that have traditionally been used for fracturing wells.”
