Wet surface air coolers for carbon capture, sequestration

WSAC Wet Surface Air Coolers are closed-loop, evaporative fluid coolers and vapor condensers. They are employed in carbon capture and sequestration including high-pressure natural gas cooling and supercritical CO2 cooling for well injection and multistage compression.

WSACs can potentially eliminate the first stage of multistage compression. They offer increased CO2 density and flow rate as well as cooler outlet temperatures.

The coolers are also designed to deliver greater operating capacity/efficiency, smaller plot space requirement, consistent thermal performance, plus water conservation. Their use reduces the amount of water required in a plant as models use poor quality water as spray makeup. Full WSAC details are free.
