A hydrodynamic journal bearing feature is incorporated into this ProVane motor speed vane pump. It reduces shaft/bearing contact and minimizes friction for higher mechanical efficiency and smart energy cost savings.
ProVane does not require a gear reducer so it offers a compact profile, upfront equipment, and smaller footprint. It operates at up to 3,600 rpm with capacities from 6 to 100 US gpm / 379 liters/min. The motor speed vane pumps come in 3/4 to 2-in. sizes.
The hydrodynamic journal bearing in this pump is a “unique fluid boundary forming principal,” according to the manufacturer. It eliminates shaft-to-bearing contact by hydroplaning above the bearing surface on a cushion of liquid. In this condition, there is no metal-to-metal contact or wear.
