SPY PT-101 ”mini” electromagnetic pig tracker transmitters offer a small profile: 1 in. (25.4 mm) diameter and 4 3/16 in. (106.4-mm) long. This enables the instrument to be used in smaller-diameter pipes. It also requires “significantly less space inside various pig cavities,” declares the manufacturer.
Like all SPY Pig Tracking systems, new PT-101 is used in conjunction with a receiver unit and wand (SPY PTR) to pinpoint pig location in small-diameter transmission or gathering lines.
PT-101 has a 15 to 20-ft free air space pick-up range with 4 to 6-ft underground depth range. It’s applicable over -20° to +180°F. A 3-v lithium battery powers the transmitter for up to 60 hr.
