Wet Surface Air Coolers are designed to serve shale gas applications. The closed-loop, evaporative systems are for high-pressure natural gas cooling and supercritical CO2 cooling for well injection and multistage compression.
WSACs can potentially eliminate the first stage of multistage compression. They help deliver increased CO2 density and flow rate along with cooler outlet temp-eratures, declares the manufacturer.
With WSAC technology, heat is rejected via latent (evaporative) heat transfer. Warm process fluid or vapors are cooled in a closed-loop tube bundle. Open-loop water is sprayed and air induced over the tube bundle to produce the cooling effect. Full WSAC details are free.
