New pressure transmitter resists sour gas sulfide stress cracking

New nonincendive, intrinsically safe, explosionproof pressure transmitters are on the market to resist sulfide stress cracking from sour gas.

With an option of 1/4-in. NPT female pressure ports, the instruments comprise 316L stainless steel which meets NACE MR0175.

Nonclogging openings of the 1/2-in. NPT male pressure port are an oilfield advantage, but the new 1/4-in. NPT female version lets you install products as retrofits for existing panels or sites. It reduces overall length of sensors to approximately 3.25 in.

While this manufacturer’s hazardous area transmitters are already between 1 and 3-in. smaller than others, this latest 1/4-in. option gives more room in the rest of the system to save weight. Full data are free.
