Pipeline defect repair procedure

“Hot Sleeves” pipeline defect repair method has been developed to be cost effective and permanent, without

draining a pipeline or interrupting operation.

Developed with Deutsche Transalpine Oelleitung GmbH, the procedure is applicable on pipeline diameters over DN 200 and an s/D ratio of £ 0.015.

The method, on which you may request complete, free information — uses heat shrink sleeves. Provided a defect is appropriately prepared, this method can be applied equally to defects on outer and inner pipe wall with length of sleeve up to 0.5 x 0.7 x D.

Among defects repaired: wall thinning; scabs running toward, not parallel to the surface; or blisters with one-sided bulge toward pipe interior.
