Two styles of high-strength grid packing help refiners resist common fouling and coking problems.
All-welded structural grids withstand extreme temperature, upset conditions, and large pressure surges — without damage. Packing surface drains rapidly to minimize possibility of stagnant droplets overheating, cracking, coking, and fouling a refinery process.
Style 1 grid packing is for high-capacity applications while Style 2 is designed for high efficiency. Both install in rigid modules stacked in successive layers then oriented to pressure drop, tower capacity, and/or efficiency performance requirements. Both styles install easily and are self cleaning.
These grid packing are declared by the manufacturer as “excellent choices for vacuum crude units, atmospheric crude units, cracked gas quench towers, and scrubbers that experience fouling.” They come in a range of stainless and carbon steels as well as weldable alloys.
