Fishing insert design introduced

A new insert design, the Swordfish, has been added to this firm’s extensive range of fishing inserts for the oil

exploration and drilling industry.
The Swordfish is aimed at downhole fishing and packer removal applications. It combines the features and technical performance of two of the company’s most popular fishing inserts into one product: Brand X is a circular insert with one chip breaker and a relief, while the HF2000 is square with many chip breakers but no relief — the Swordfish, however, has structure relief and features numerous chip breakers. The Swordfish’s design also means that it can be arranged with a positive or negative rake to vary the aggressiveness of the cutting action and therefore widen the application range and effectiveness of the cutting process.
