Intrinsically safe Positive Closures are newly introduced to use fluid pressure in a pipeline or vessel to secure
the door of the hub.
Sealing force increases with the increase in fluid pressure to deliver a secure, effective, and safe seal, according to the maker.
The new closures utilize only the amount of force needed to secure the door, even under varying pressure conditions or at times when there is no internal fluid pressure at all, it’s noted.
Other pipeline closures have locking mechanisms that most often exceed pressure force in order to prevent fluid from leaking into an environment. This is unnecessary with new Positive Closure.
Among features: fast opening design for quick and easy operation, positive sealing process for optimal worker and environment safety, plus ability to handle wide pressures up to 15,000 psi. Closure data are free.
