StatoilHydro’s tensioner usage told in handbook

A free handbook depicts StatoilHydro’s choice of Superbolt Supernut Tensioners as a recommended bolting alternative.
“Reliable Securing” booklet indicates the tensioners are constructed such that standard nuts are replaced by “stretch nuts” with integrated jackbolts and washers. Their use can be very beneficial in terms of HSE because only hand tools are needed for fitting and dismantling. Rigging of heavy wrenching equipment and possibly use of sledgehammers during dismantling is avoided.
Supernut Tensioners are declared to be continually employed in critical offshore bolting applications.
It’s emphasized that only hand/air tools are required to install or remove any size Superbolt Tensioner.
