New subsea tree for marginal fields, fast-tracked projects

Marginal-field developments and fast-tracked projects are handled by newly introduced AZ-10 subsea tree.
It is especially applicable, according to the manufacturer “where time is critical and quicker deployment can lead to millions of dollars of increased profitability for the operators.”
AZ-10 “has the ability to reduce the drilling and completion cost for a subsea completion by more than 40% while reducing the first oil schedule by 15 months,” it’s declared.
Ready to be deployed off the shelf, the subsea tree features a totally concentric tree and hanger system. It also affords easier installation for safe, more cost-effective production. AZ-10 requires five tools to install versus 24 for a typical tree or 37 for a horizontal tree.
Its mono-bore vertical tree weighs less than 50,000-lb. It can be handled by all cranes without disassembly and installed with Gen II or newer semi subs.
