New DCR 900 Digital Charter Recorder from Flowstar Technologies, Edmonton Canada - as a single unit - measures production gas flow. It comprises gas turbine generating device, temperature and pressure probes, plus flow computer - replacing a number of existing paper chart measurement devices - and employing data capture and wireless transmissions.
Single-system DCR 900 replaces traditional meter run, orifice changer, orifice plate, and paper chart recorder. CSA approved, it's conservatively estimated to be 10-times more accurate than customary devices.
DCR 900 uses a Windows-based programming interface for setup of date, time, and units to be displayed, sampling frequency, specific gravity, and gas composition. It uses AGA7 and AGA8 compressibility calculations. Once the unit is programmed, field installation is uncomplicated as long as good plumbing practices are followed.
Final operation of the unit is simple. There is only one button which toggles to show current pressure and temperature, current time/date, and then 40 days of date-stamped gas flow totals.
