Technology helps generate pipeline-ready natural gas from abandoned coals mines: A novel technology developed by Engelhard Corporation is enabling a southern Illinois gas producer to treat and sell gas from abandoned coal mines and contaminated natural gas - that would otherwise remain unrecovered in shut-in wells. By implementing Engelhard Molecular Gate adsorbent-based technology, Grayson Hills Energy LLC is removing water, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide from gas produced from its coal mines and natural gas wells. The company now produces natural gas to pipeline specifications, enabling it to serve major gas and electricity markets in the northeastern United States.
Petronas selects Emerson's Saab Rosemount tank gauging: "We like to standardize using the best equipment, and Saab Rosemount radar-based tank gauging is in that category," says Zubair Abdul Razak, manager of the depot and installation engineering department at Petronas Dagangan. Petronas, one of Asia's largest oil companies, has installed Emerson Process Management's Saab Rosemount tank gauging systems in seven terminals. The Saab Rosemount TankRadar system is approved for accuracy in accordance with the requirements of the Malaysian SIRIM authority. This was a requirement from Petronas and will enable the company to use the automatic tank gauge as a standard method for custody transfer in the future.
ATCO Midstream's gas-sweetening experience employs Iron-Redox technology: ATCO Midstream (ATCO) works with natural gas producers to gather, process, and store their natural gas and extract liquids from it. The ATCO LO-CAT Unit from Gas Technology Products LLC, located in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada at the Carbondale plant, has provided highly reliable service for over 12 years. The unit has continuously been producing sweet gas at or below the minimum local requirement for H2S emissions. ATCO is very pleased with the performance of the LO-CAT unit, and expects many more years of LO-CAT operation at its St. Albert plant.
